Best place to buy aluminum on west coast

I need (4) 7" round billets that are 2" thick. Best price I've found so far is on plate which will work but it's more machining time.

6061 or 7075 will do.

Best place I found so far was a company out of New York who sells it by the pound. But it's plate. a 7 x 7 x 2" plate of 7075 will cost me about 55 bucks each.

Wondering if anyone else out there has any suggestions to find it cheaper.

Alreco in Brighton, CO has always been pretty fair for stuff I've bought from them.

Aluminum Rem-Rack, Upland, Ca. It's just a guy and a bunch of shelves of aluminum remnants, but I'm pretty sure he has a telephone... I used to buy crap there all the time in college. Recently, a buddy in Oregon was making a billet oil pan (!) and was able to get a chunk from these guys at about half what it would have cost locally.

Dave,

Ed is changing his name from Aluminum Rem-rack to Upland metals and he said he's going to be getting into steel.

$41 each for 6061-T6 7" round x 2"
8 bucks for COD

32-35 lbs... worth to ship it.

which from all of my research is a GREAT price.

For Comparison
September 18, 2008 11:50AM
Aluminum-Rem-Rack or Upland Metals 6061-t6 7"x2 round = $41.00 each
Online Metals 6061-t6 7"x2 round = $76.00 each
Industrial Metal Supply 6061-t6 7"x2 round = $40.22 each

Ed was just as a good a price as the big guys and he's one man and a telephone. In today's world, I admire that. That man gets my business.

In case anyone else wants a good price on aluminum call Ed @ 909-982-4248

Glad to see the man and his phone are still there 15 years later...

Shit. 15 years? I suddenly feel old.
