I test drove a 2002 Ti back in the 1980's that had been convertered from road course use back to street use. It had a "built" motor and handled nothing short of awesome.
Sadly upon going about looking for rust, it was rusted on the inner fender wells where the rear suspension mounts. The owner was asking a premium dollar for the car and had tried to "conceal" the rust... Tsk tsk tsk Appearantly this was a problem area for the 2002 in salt environments. Your's looks rust free in the same area thought !
