Great info guys I really appreciate it. i do have a couple spare starion blocks so i can get the crank out of it and get it measured. If the ebay crank fits that'll be great. I take it the stock pistons will be too short? and the compression will be lower? If so thats not a bad thing I can run more boost. Then again 8.5:1 isnt bad either. JvL is John i take it haha, If you could sir pm, or email me or give me a call what ever is easier for you, and we can mill over the pistons "no pun intended"

A $16 electronic vernier is good enough then you know for certain what you have and have hours of fun measuring the other stuff like valve diameters, cam lift, valve spring ID and Valve spring wire diameter (I mention that cause I have seen WAY DEAD valve springs on these).

If the ebay

OK what we're doing is using the 2,6 diameter (91.1) and the 2,0 compression height---center of pin to top of the piston.

and the compression
> will be lower?

That all depends on the crown configuration.
The pistons I can do for the modest price are flat tops.
For a turbo application you need to decide what compression ratio you want----and that is dependant on the gas you will ALWAYS run, and of course how much boost you want to run.
And that all depends on the ability to optimise fuel and ignition.

What's the management system you intend to use.

If so thats not a bad thing I can
> run more boost. Then again 8.5:1 isnt bad either.

No but I tend to choose no higher than 8.0.
it's called MARGIN of SAFETY.

I believe Steve Millen ran a Starion at Oregon years ago with a 2.3 and it was amazingly quick in his hands. But that was a while back and my memory isn't so reliable...
