Seat position
December 22, 2008 10:55PM
Ok, im stuck. I'm trying to figure out how I want my seat. If I go as low as it can go, I can still see over the dash.... sort of. (basically, I see straight. How far down the road until I see the road, I have no idea. Its still on jackstands in the garage. If I raise the seat up more, lower then stock, but up, I can see more "up close" But as during a race you dont want to be focusing on right infront of you (/any faster then 5mph driving), I'm not sure this matters. The thing is, the higher the seat, the closer my head to the cage bits. Whats the good compromise?

I like a little lower than stock for helmet clearance because I like to see where I'm going...the co-driver seat however, gets slammed to the floor and moved all the way back because it's just for holding ballast

It's always easier to get it higher than it is to get it lower. I always worry about forward/backward then go as low as I can. I also like feeling like Marko Martin. smiling smiley

This is 100% a comfort thing..nothing else.

you'll get it where you think it needs to be in the garage, then go for a drive, and want it higher, lower, back, forward, etc.

build in some adjustment and adjust as you see fit after you start driving it
