Agreed, so that's whay I put in "How much can you realistically put through two wheels without ripping off tires ever stage?" So what tires does john use? How long do they last? How much of that power is actually useful 95% of the time?

I believe 250 will be a good start too... And my theory is if I build the bottom end right it can take loads more if necessary, or last for many seasons at that output.

Just build it with a stand alone EMS and get a good reliable set up where you have 225-250 horsepower with fairly low and quick boost, but build it with a quickly interchangeable turbocharger, where in 10 minutes you could swap turbos, crank up the boost, and load a different program into the ECU for 450 horse and 12 foot flames for Parc Exposes and Super Special stages. What are you building anyhow. I know the seat and harnesses in the car, but that's about it. John also noted recently that he broke multiple ARP 12mm wheel studs with all that power. And I'd imagine he went through alot of tires. Our AWD 450 whp Audi goes through fuel and tires like I go through coffee and cigs. I think in two seasons of hill climbs we went through around 20 16" Michelin FB80 or FB90s.

Hi Grant!
I'm still looking for a mate for that seat. I'm building a Group 5 Nissan 240 SX with JVL suspenders, SR20DET engine, a years worth of cage, welding and body prep. I'm pretty sure we discussed some on the other forum, but I can't remember my password :-)

I am moving away from my car for 1 year starting in April, so it seems like progress is going to slow significantly while I'm away. Black Bear 2007 is an optimistic goal, but manageable provided I can stay employed, let me know if you need a hand with anything as you progress...

That sucks... So you're giving me time to get mine sorted and wad it up before you come out :-)

With the right shocks and suspension my car will sit it's contents firmly back in the seats upon acceleration whilst throwing rocks in large quantity. I find this to be quite amusing. Spectators love it even when I leave them bleeding with broken glasses.

Darned sure....learn to drive with conservative power for a few seasons so that you will have the basic skills needed on gravel. Then you won't just be sprinting between turns as we see virtually all the four wheel drive cars doing.
