My version of hydraulic handbrake

Since this forum has no piccies of hydraulic handbrake setup yet, I figured I'd show you mine (maybe some one will show me theirs? :-)).

I've made a WRC-kinda-thing in my Golf - push to activate, not pull. Works like a charm. Cheap ass brake reduction valve made out of the original reduction valve normally situated on the axle, an axle nut and a spring.

The kind of rally I do, we do a LOT of handbrake turns, so it is a major improvement for me.

One might wanna stay tuned for my soon-to-come bullet proof front motor mount too - gonna be nice...

NA = North America?

Well, I know - but it is quite legal here in our part of the world. Kinda hard to get anything else actually.
The Swedes use copper-nickel as does the rest of Europe IIRC.

Brian,

I like your Push-not-Pull approach. Saves a motion and gives better leverage. Nice.

It has the additional advantage that I don't really have to grab the handle - if I can just manage to hit it in what ever convinient way may be possible in the heat of it all, it'll do just fine.

Paddy you should look at some roundy round adverts, I've seen some whole car plastic brake line kits. And copper line comes in many different specs.
