Haha. No, not the effort but it takes too much time and effort clearing all that shit out to just put something back in. The seam sealer that is. The epoxy stuff seems like a fine idea.

Well yeah, just to put the epoxy on way to much work, but i took it all down to weld up the seams, those pictures i left out. So stripped, seam welded, then sealed it back up with the seam sealer, then the epoxy top coat.

So what i learned-

Temp as been covered make sure everything is up to temp, it says 40 degress, but i would shoot for 50-60 surface temp.

I would advice aginst rolling or brushing this stuff, if you want it to come out smooth, and look professional, spray it! Much more of a PITA but the results will be worth it. Rolling it the material was so thick it was really hard to work with. Pickup some thinner and thin it down. I know for rally cars u guys dont go for looks but this will help in overall ease of use.

Pot live depends on temp, everything with this stuff depends on the temp. If u google it and find the material form on it, you will get a lot of info from that.

Second coat applied today, i kept the material inside for 4 days to warm it up, then kept it in front of a small heater when mixing. Kept the temp up and the second coat went on a lot better then the first. It was much thinner when warmed up.

Yeah... So... Umm...

I'm REALLLLY glad I asked about spraying it. The guys at Sherwin-Williams were toting the benefits of spraying it when I asked about pressure settings and tip sizes for my HVLP gun... Then they went silent.

To spray this stuff, you need a big specialized machine/gun. Rental fee and pain in the ass to clean = me brushing it on.

What type of temperatures are we talking about here?

I just finished the final touches insulating the garage.

I can do 50 degrees for cheap, 60 costs a bit, and 70 is going to cost me about $3 a day.

Thanks for all the advice Chris.

Okay, I love the stuff!

The first coat was like trying to spread glue. The second coat was easy.

Wierd to get used to 'paint' hardening instead of drying. I left it in the bucket ~30 minutes longer than I needed to because I forgot to cover some bolt holes. When I started using it, I thought it was allready hardening. It took about an hour for me to realise that it was just the normal consistancy smiling smiley

Second coat was a basically just a touch-up coat, for areas I'd missed. I still have a couple small places to get to. Once I flip the shell back over, I'll still have to do the Co-Driver side front footwell and rocker.

I protected the bolt holes with tubing or tape wrapped around the threads of bolts.
