Fuel Cells
June 21, 2006 08:31PM
Ok, so the list of things left to do before I Tremclad my car is actually getting quite short (*ahem* Engine Mounts...). One thing I wouldn't mind having sorted out is what I'll be doing for a cell, so that I can have it mocked up before calling all the bodywork done (I plan to 'homemade pinto' it as John may have called it at some point in time).

Soooo, the usual questions:

* How big? I don't imagine I'll get very good fuel economy, so I was thinking 50L...which is what, 15gal?

* Manufacturer? They all seem quite pricey, but what isn't? Any particularly good deals to be had anywhere?

I'd like to at least sort out the model so I can buy the can to fit everything up, then just get the bladder later...do they still have expiry dates?

(Woohoo, keeping this section of the forum alive instead of doing assignments...)

Read the rules before you decide to install a fuelcell.

15 gal is good though.

Yah, it's not exactly the Wild West here in Canada regarding their installation. That being said, I am planning on keeping it mostly outside of the car and having the silly box on a box arrangement just in case.

ATL, Fuel Safe, Jazz?

STAY AWAY FROM JAZZ AT ALL COST

ATL and FuelSafe are both good quality. Check the replacement bladder availability and replacement bladder prices before you decide which one to get.
