Got square rear beam?
August 27, 2006 10:42AM
I elected to leave this unit (mine) in Ever-rot for a couple more weeks so it could be used to finish all the proto work, but man does it look nice. I'm sure John will chime in later on with some more piccies and words, but for now I'll just add some shots I snapped during a day of work...

Original FoMoSpo part:

The view is kinda confusing on these, as it's being jigged up on the rear section of an XR which was cut out and flipped upside down on a table. So you end up seeing everything upside down...

Just so some of the images make sense, the ones with the pipe in place are showing that a 3" OD pipe will *just* clear the floor without any ovaling required.

*sob* It's soooo beautiful... I thought this day would never come

Of course once this is done and installed the last piece of the cage can be welded in and that will be a big step towards a logbook.

Sorry I missed you Paddy! Was up in BC interior taking care of paperwork crap.

The only problem...
September 17, 2006 05:30PM
See, I was soooooooo excited about getting this installed I thought I'd go disassemble my stock rear end to get my trailing arms off. 3 broken Torx bits later, I have 8 bolts left to remove and a very annoyed Craftsman salesman at the local Sears...
