brake (hard) line fittings - where to buy?

Moose and I deleted the ABS from my Gaylant and I need some fittings for hard lines in the bay in order to get my brakes functional. I think I might have found a shop online that stocks what I need, but it comes up as being a VW specialist in Kalifornia.

Are brake lines like this a sort of industry standard size across make/model? The one pictured on the page above looks just like the one off the Gaylant, but I still need (2) t-fittings and (2) straight-throughs to close up the brake system on Betty.

I'd bet money that the monkey behind the register at Autozone might better understand my speaking Greek before he could even begin to try and locate something like this in his computer, so any leads on this would be appreciated. I figure I'm less than $200 away from getting this pig on the road and I'd like to drive her to Laughlin next month.

Thanks for the read.

VW fittings are 10x1mm thread if I remember right. If I were you I'd try the part store and just ask for a metric t-fitting for brake lines. I'm sure they'd at least have the straight through unions in metric.

When I deleted the prop valve in the RX-7, I just grabbed metric unions from the local auto parts store (Murray's). AFAIK Mitsu is pretty standard across the board with their flare fittings, as opposed to GM and Ford who like to use a special, different, size/pitch for every friggin' connection. 10x1.0 sounds about right. I don't bother with the Taco Bell rejects usually working the counter(*) but go right to the rack with lines and fittings and adapters and such.

I don't know if metric tees exist in easy-to-locate form, but if you had to, you could always go the sleazy route and use adapters and a SAE tee, or just put SAE fittings on your lines, simple cut and reflare job, takes 10 minutes including finding the beer.

(*) Some parts stores have actual, real-live, intelligent people working the counter. Usually you will find them in non-chain stores, but chain stores that have small showrooms and a couple delivery trucks are also a good bet. (They cater mainly to local shops and thus need to know their shit - my local goto is a NAPA of all places, but if i need a left-side framus bushing for a '83 Obscurmobile, they can get it or know the reason why) Find a place like this and reward them with continued business.
