So tempting smiling smiley I might take you up on it if it's the MC style manifold and not the early manifold where the wastegate is only fed by cylinder 5. Those suck but they also don't crack.

I'll probably end up making a header anyway, since it's been a long enough time since I fabricated something like that. If I'd done it more recently, I'd still be thinking "Never again... never again!" and $1100 or whatever for the available header would sound pretty cheap.

Supposedly it cracks a lot. But also, I never see anybody bothering to support the 20lb+ turbo and downpipe hanging off of a foot long lever made out of 1500F thinwall stainless steel attached to a vibrating engine, so I can understand why cracks would happen.

Stick with the 10v and get some cheap seat time...in fact with the money you save you can buy new tires - probably better upgrade smiling smiley

2 piece EM - very sexy...

Melty injector wires - not so sexy...

So did you dump fluids due to a warped head, or did you warp the head due to loss of fluids? and if you lost fluids, out of a expansion plug - how did that happen?

Blocked off hose popped and overheated. Rush fix and likely not burped and overheated again.

What Grant said,

Pete. its an MC1 mani, not sure what you mean by fed off cyl 5... I thought they all fed off 5 but I've never had any of the earlier motors in my hands. If you want it you know how to get a hold of me.

That's the difference. Subtle but huge with respect to how the flow moves through.

Stripping down and labeling

I swear this is progress

See these are done!

Doing this thing effing right this time, and not using an off the shelf 6 cyl harness adapted to work. Need new pins for the coil section, two injectors that just dont look pretty, a few gaskets, some radiator ducting and some carefully routed coolant lines. And she should be ripping again. Also redoing the dash to better mount guages.

And race car goes on the shelf... Homeowner problems. Taking a break from ripping out drywall to get at a leak in the basement.

Painting and sanding in the is done in the living room, dining room and both bedrooms--window and door trim done and base boards, floor sanding all done, painting and assembling 2 sets of Subie--GC8 and GD, and 2 sets of Be Em Dubyas and welding a new pair of rear tubes for Turner out in the east.

Text is floor tile in the kitchen and painting the cabinets in the kitchen, and then painting the soffets and side boards outside
Then machine some stuff for all these Fuck-us guys who wanna go 50mm...

Gotta go find a door right now...

Real hard since I'm a stay at home guy.

Real hard since I'm a stay at home guy.

My wife just picked up her first gig as a designer, been doing weddings on and off and deals for freinds. She just got contracted to do up a new restaurant in town. Long story short she's not here, I've stripped the youngest down to a diaper, put a bucket of water and and few toys and towels around him and let him have at it. The older two are best buds and take care of each other. But the youngest is about to go in a kennel or something.

Plumbing and drywall with a toddler= suck!

I wanna see pics of the house! Refinishing the kitchen cabinets is still on my list, not looking forward to that one.

John- cam spins with two fingers. It's just fine. Also cam lobes clear the valves when the lifters are removed. Just for fun though I whipped up a spring tool.
