Not saying that DMS is bad. It's rally, we're rough on stuff!

Ish.

What kind of impacts are causing that sort of distruction?

The cheap ass in me wonders if there would be a way to shift the stress to a cheaper part to replace? Maybe a lower control arm or something. Seems like replacing tubes all the time would get spendy real fast.

Holy shit!
Grant I made my 50mm tubes and lock rings and spring seats same thread as DMS so that my stuffs could substitute or sorta interchange.

That dumb bottom is the only thing different. I think DMS has some idiotic taper.
If the inserts are good, we can make 'em rock and roll again. I have tubes and bushings, and bought a sheet of CrMo for another batch of ears.
4130 wasn't that much more and we know what it is.

I am and Bob the Machinist are convinced the sheet of 3/16 I bought that all the units with the way bent up ears came outta maybe was simply shit-soft.

You probably should break down and call on the phone.

I know one of them was the front on Mitch's car at Gorman this year. He also ripped one off at Idaho in 2009. Some may be from Tanner's old car as well. We had a full set that he pretty much destroyed. We have a whole bucket of bent inserts. Mitch/Checkpoint was one of the authorized DMS rebuilding places for a few years so that is where most of it comes from.
Point is, this is rally, even with good suspension, shit goes wrong and stuff will break.
Brooks Freehill used to run Bilstein HD inserts on his Jetta. He just replaced them after every single event. Eventually he went to DMS, then sold the car to build an Audi, which survived one outing at Laughlin.

But...but...DMS has NEVER EVER BROKEN!!!! The guys in OzzieLand will tell you that over and over! The world can't continue to exist with such a paradox! Must be photoshopped.

Wait, I'm confused...I thought these were pics of DMS?

Any pics of how Ohlins, Proflex, & RS&SP do the ears? Curious if they've got the same type of failures happening.

The old original Dave Clarke showed be the email saying that verbatim
''We have never had of failure of a DMS component in a rallycar ever.''
