I may have broken some ground and found the fable fuel pumps...

Mercedes 300E and 300CE's have a nice tray under car, housing a pair of Bosch 0 580 254 950, nice fuel filter and accumulator....this is off a 3.0L inline 6-cylinder K-Jet car. The assembly, with it's beautiful hard lines fits right onto a 240 fuel pump tray!!!

The inlets on the fuel pumps are 14mm, and are said to be used in the same configuration on the AMG E60. They're rated for 135LPH each....

Should be enough for my lil Turbo toy?

Werrrrdddd...

Oh, what about the accumulator?

Is it worthwhile to retain in the setup?

No, just keep it simple.

I'm going beyond my knowledge with this, so reel me in homie....

The accumulator is cuz K-Jetz gotta maintain fuel system pressure so importantly...

Isn't that sorta, kinda, maybe like a swirl pot idear???

Like make an already good system, just a lil bit better?

Seeing as though I never really ditched the accumulator setup from when the 242 was K-Jet.....meaning the return line, from accumulator to tank....

I dunno, I'm all for simple, but if it's just one lil old line to hook-up...that's already there, might be worth it???

Just go efi!

I've got a set of 5 370cc injectors-bosch style connectors
your choice of haltech or megasquirt both currently in fuel only form. MS is upgradeable.
I'll even throw in a known good fuel pump.

I have gone the route of EFI. I've been running BOSCH LH.2 since November 2010.

I've now swapped to MS1v3....the addition of the accumulator, would just be an extra measure to maintain consistent fuel pressure.

Just thinkin, in terms of maintaining residual system pressure.

Might be nice for start-ups.....

Gotta look into it a bit more though, because I could swear there's supposed to be a check valve in the system, somewhere.

The check valve is the pump.

The accumulator is there mainly for noise supression, not for maintaining pressure. The pulse waave through the fuel lines when the injector opens/closes can cause a knocking noise. You will be fine without it.

Accumulators like to fail anyway.

Werd....

Suppose you're right....not to mention, the accumulator is there for start-up on a K-jet car....it needs that reserve...won't have that issue.

I cut the Accumulator clamp off the Mercedes-Benz Fuel Delivery tray....so, now just a pair of pumps and a filter....gotta grab a hard line connector off a later, EFI Benz, one without the accumulator output, and I'm set.

Funny, I grabbed all the hardware to hang it, from the Benz, it fits up where the old pump on my 242 goes, perfectly, and the old tray from the 242 makes a perfect skid plate.

Confirmed this setup is also used on the w124 400/420E...a 4.2L V8 making about 275hp/295ft.lbs.

Rumored to be used on a few current/recent AMG models too.

Still no 044's on stock Benz's yet

Do you still need a friggen fuel pump? I've got one sitting on the floor of my garage. Worked just fine till the fuse box decided to go to hell in a fiery mess. (meaning still works great) It's the backup to my to my backup, but I'll give it up if you are crazy about the idea.
