How much tougher is that stuff than a standard automotive single-stage? I have a basically rust-free 89 Toyota pick-up that's starting to bubble with some surface rust here and there...and I've been weighing my options on what to paint the truck with to get a solid, durable finish.

I'm worried if I use a standard paint, I'll be needing to start over again in a few years...This yota sheet metal sucks.

That is just cheap automotive single stage. Nothing fancy, probably not to durable. But it was less than $200 so.....

Yeah, as Grant said, engine is in and it runs again. More details to follow.

Just curious, I know you've got the sweet new rear beam and arms with Supra diff, but is this post install on those or the old BMW setup you had before? You should post a few pics of both of those here if you can find time. For the kids man.
Also, what final drive did you decide on?
Did you do the T5 yet or still running the T9?

Grant, this is the new setup, 4.3 Toyota, still on a T9. i am not a ham fisted shift operator, so have had pretty good luck with it. This picture was this afternoon, that was the first 10 feet the car has driven! I will take some pictures when I get the car on the lift later this week.

John, did you order new ones for me? Just sold some stuff to Wyatt to raise funds to finish this beast, so I will have some coin for you.

This entire project is so awe inspiring. The amount of knowledge, hard work, tools, parts, steady hands... I want to someday make enough money to be able to afford to do this, learn the necessary tech knowledge, learn how to weld, (that one is going to take awhile) and do this to three or four cars. A solid road car for daily use, and two or three cars for rally.

Damn I wish I knew what I was doing and had the space to learn.
