Made a mount for the rally computer today. With the pushed back co-drivers seat, it needed to be about 12" or so in front of the dash. I have seen some pretty scetch stuff, like 1.5" dom tube pointed directly at the co-drivers chest.... Anyway, I wanted to make an adjustable mount, that attached to the tunnel. After sitting in the car today with the mock up, I just could not get the angles to not have something close to her legs, so I totaly changed the design. This one will be bolted to a tab that is on the A pillar support bar, just below the dash, and come across the dash. Fully adjustable up/down/in out, and the computer is on a ball socket so it can be angled any way she wants. Also, the shaft telescopes....

That handbrake looks like it will take out the driver's knee.

You know I was sitting on the deck just the other day wishing I had an odo ...smiling bouncing smiley

Looks nice. I'd put a washer or xbar on the cinch bolt for ease of tightening. Great adjustability.

Technically there is supposed to be a small 'C' shaped cut-out at the bottom but it is essentially worthless as you can't see enough to worry about, so we don't. It would only show the weld on the inside of the joint, which is a very easy weld to complete.

Very well, carry on.

Quick thread-jack for Sean....

What sort of mileage do you get on stage with the XR4? Just trying to come up with a baseline number for this weekend's Lemons race.

Thanks!

You are better off calculating in gallons per hour. That makes the math easier to do on the fly. Then you schedule fuel stops and filling up jugs based on time. Figure about 5-7 gal/h depending on the yellow flags for a car making ~150hp at the wheels.

....at our level, fuel weight doesn't matter, just fill up the car, you never know what is going to break next.

We seemed to use about 7-7.5 gph at Loudon Annoying. It came in on fumes a couple times after long stints.

We still managed 14th overall after a head gasket on Friday, power steering line repair (bzzzzzt with the MIG, yeah the PS will likely be getting deleted) Friday night, and a master cylinder replacement Saturday morning.

Not bad for our first time out...

The car has been at the body shop for 3 weeks so it has been tough to get to work on it. Took it over there because they were slow, then the flood gates opened...... I have been going there after work till 11:00 PM or so 3 nights a week, and sometimes a weekend day if they are there. Finished the last couple small pressing fab things, and samded on stuff till my fingers bled. Got some booth time today and shot the interior, engine bay, all the jams, insides of the doors and hatch. If they finish up the body work this week, I can shoot the color next weekend.
