Can't grasp the tone of that comment Morrison. For some people it works. Usually only for the ones that have been out there proving themselves for a long period of time.

His new scheme has all those names on the roof.

During my morning coffee surfing I found a good little clip of this car. Those f-cup lads are always at 10/10ths. Just nuts!

And there seems to be an endless supply of guys who can somehow drive harder and with more commitment than anybody here. Same event, David Pettersson 'guest starring" from Sweden

I sink he meant "over there"... but wrong there too. The increasing use of 740s and 940s and for that matter big Beemers is because better cars are drying up--or dying out slaughtered at the hands of loons.. The really excellent Opel Ascona B was king from mid 70s to mid 90s. Production ended in 81 but for another 12-14 years it was King.. 240 production ended 92, and they sold a ton more but all good thing one day come to a end--of sorts...sad smiley

Forgive my inexperience, but is there a reason the 2 doors are so sought after over the 4 doors? I know they look cool, but is there any structural difference that makes an advantage in racing?

Looks.
Some people talk about easier access to the area behind the seats in a 4 door but whatever.
2 door, and above all for the love of Gawd round headlights not ugly chrome and 4 little sealed beam or the 2 portable TVs like on my 88---ugh!

The main plus for a 4 door is the increased likelihood of finding a door or a hood or a fender in the correct color when you smash on. 2 door importation stopped maybe '82 so 10 more years of 4 doors.
Finding the right color is good.

They look cooler.
Any structural difference that makes an advantage in racing is quickly negated with the addition of a cage. Thus any discussion of structural differences that some wanker engineer thinks would make a difference only has applications to wanking off in a parking lot and thus has no application to real racing unless you need something to wank off to, in which case, I suggest attending NASA events with umbrella girls to supply your wank fest wank material.
That was an great run on sentence.

Well that sums that up, I figured the cage negated any structural difference, but then again I've never been inside a 242 to look. They sure look cool, but for budget gravel slingin I'll probably stick with a 4 door.

I really enjoy this thread btw, lots of learning for me, haha.

You just need to do a bit more yoga to be able to climb in over the door bars wearing your helmet and hanz on a 4-door
