Took some more pictures today. Unfortunately I was unable to take pics with wheels off.
The car came with 6 michelin m3s. They seem to be usable, what you guys think?

JVL,

You had suggested that I should tie the harnesses like in the cosworth but if i were to do that wouldnt the harnesses be tied too high or useless?

No not if you place the the bar low enough.
It would cetainly better for the strength of the cage AND the streength of the anchorage of the harnesses compared to the very bad design you currently have.
Think about the forces working on the eyelets currently, the TENDANCY is to bend the mounts as all force works on the lever the eyelet is when its standing up like that.
I wouldn't allow it were i A SCRUTINEER.
aLSO THE LAP BELT ANCHORAGE POINTS ARE FAR TO THE REAR OF WHAT IS RECCOMENDED.

Any other concerns????
Hopefully this weekend I will start working on the car, removing glass and seats and completing some welds if i get around. Any suggestions or pics for the seat bracketry? I still havent printed the rulebook but besides the harness mounts and a lack of cross and sill bars (as suggested by Mark Bowers) does the cage seem like it needs anything else?

Hey John,

If i place the bars low enough would you recommend it like that?? Wouldnt the harnesses be dangerous in terms of strecth? Wouldnt i be better off with a cross bar tied to the main hoop? (Like you mentioned before, adjustability becomes a Pain in the arse)
What else do you suggest regarding the cage? Shall i definitely X it up?

Thanks again
Oscar

Oscar and all,

The reason for needing bracing in the main hoop is that the very low vee supoprt in the main cage does not provide adequate strength in the main hoop. This Vee would be OK if it interescted the main hoop at a much higher point, but it is way too low as built. You need to do this for a logbook and I think we agreed on this. A horizontal bar is adequate and provides a place for the harness to mount that is much better. This bar can be bent at the ends to for a shallow U if more seat clearance is needed. A diagonal is also acceptable, and then you could tie bars in like Jhin suggested. I agree with his analysis on the harness going to the rear crossmember now; it is not nearly as good as a loop mount further forward.

Oscar, I am sending you a PM.

Regards to all,
Mark B.
