geebuz, how many cars they go thru? Ha. I have one of their MK1 dubs.

We Don't go through that many cars... there's just alot of us...

Sorry about your luck Todd, I just don't have the time to do the kind of work this thing needs.

I still think this thing can be made to be competitive in open light, especially with Rebecca driving it. It will have to lose some creature comforts on the way though, a non-turbo Audi lump ought to beat a non-turbo Subaru lump just about any day...

Yeah, when (?) the 50s arrive....I have mi muchachito Vittorios here for some TLC so I can grab measurements while they're here.
The Audi is big and heavy enough I think 50s will be right...

The front clip comment was meant both seriously and with a bit of dark humor...hope I didn't sting anybody too bad.

Good luck with the rebuild!

OK as of Monday I start a new normal job!!
So its going to put a slowdown on this project...
There is a new car to build from now at the house...needs a bath..

And to all those that think Audis are way heavy...

Thats with all the parts back in place or sitting on the hood mostly in place....

Do you think there's 300-400 streetable pounds that can be removed? (IE - full glass, at least two seats, retain heater and the dashboard)

There's a local 2.5RS running about 2500lb and I figure that a 7A can make more power than an EJ25, what with having more valves and such.

To be realistic there's only 50-200 becuse this is the car with the cage and no back seats not much inside. Glass would be the biggest loss of lbs.

Boy - you guys just don't listen!

You know those Japanese tin cans handle better, parts are easier to get - you don't have to fab EVERY LAST LITTLE THING, and you can get them in any color as long as its blue???

Well, for the love of AUDI and the four rings of pleasure and pain - welcome!

Todd - buy the JVL boingers - you'll replace one or more Bilstein HD on every event if you don't...

7a is a good call...
