FWD Gaylant FTW!!!

(already sent this to Driggsy, but here it is for everyone else.)

At last - after not running for a year and tons of hours taking the interior down to the metal, repainting the interior and trunk, slapping in a seat and 4-pt harness, and putting on a new door, fender, and some borrowed rally tires - it lives!

PS I know the front bumper is off.

Maiden run, on Sunday - Mindy driving it:

Well as much as I like the awd version somebody's got to realise that just because a car is good in one form doesn't mean it is worth a shit as a low powered fwd car.
Look at the Fucus.
Excellent turbo 4wd car.
Heavy slow underpowered POS as a fwd car.

Mazda GTX was just OK on snow events, never did shit at WRC level on gravel.
As a fwd car, what da fawk???

Get a rear diff in NOW!!!!!

I was waiting for a negative comment about the car from you, and what do you know, two hours later there it is.

I know it won't be fast. Or competitive. Or handle worth a shit. I dont really care. It was cheap, and i've had a great time working on it with my friends and girlfriend. And I have WRC Bilsteins (yes, real WRC suspenders) found at the Poway Bilstein HQ that are being prepped to go in - at least the fronts. So that's really cool, and i'm excited about that.

If I wanted a VR4, I would have bought one. We have both a VR4 and a GSX in the same garage getting the rally treatment. One's ready to be caged, the other is on it's way.

No worries John, I will corrupt his ass to make it AWD, all it takes it time and cubic dollars.

And yes Eli, my Thor toting friend, you can convert it to use VR4 rear disks, even better remove the rear spindles, send them to the Evil Master Of North West, he can concoct something waaaaaaaaay bitching for the old Misterbichy.

I think a combo of VR4 fronts and rears would be pretty nice. The car is pretty light.

Congrats, again, Eli. I'm totally jealous now. Both our Galant run, now, but yours is closer. tongue sticking out smiley If I could swing a radiator fan and insurance before this weekend, I'd even try driving mine to the banquet. LOL

Galants FTW!

Hmmm... I do have a radiator fan sitting on the trunk in the garage right now. Vanessa seems to think I look more natural behind the wheel of the Galant too. Oh yeah, and the damn thing spoiled me on my beloved Talon. I switched cars at lunch today and I'll be damned if my Talon feels spongy and slow. sad smiley

We shall see...
