HANS sizing and looking to borrow/rent

I haven't had a chance to try on a Hans device and i am trying to get a handle on the sizing. On the chart I fall in the range that could fit a medium or large. My neck size is just under 17" and I am a bit broad shouldered/short necked. I am wondering whether the medium or large would be better.

I have a line on a medium to borrow for hyperfest (June 16) but if a large is what I need does anyone have a large I can borrow/rent for the weekend. I am trying to avoid rally purchases that "expire" right now.

Either will be fine as far as safety goes, for comfort youll want the large. The medium might a little less comfortable to take on and off but once it's on it will feel fine.

I have a 17.5 inch neck and I fit in a medium without issue. The only thing I am unable to do is take my helmet and HANS off at the same time like the skinny guys do.

Thanks for the input. I have lined up a medium to borrow for hyperfest and hopefully I can try on a large before I buy one.
