Doesn't look like it... Plating took extra 5 days, but the killer was I bought bronze for the bushes (I said to you I'd measure and see if I could use the Bilstein bearing things but their OD and the tube ID would have resulted in not enough bearing crush--the bearings would move, a big no-no) and paid for 3 day UPS and no bronze..Emauil and phone call "Oh somethings odd" 2 days later---Thursday I get email "Our vendor at that location sent UPS ground....sorry"

Pay double for 3 day...and it will be here first on Tuesday--Holiday and weekend.

I pay an extra $65 shipping so I could have sent them Thursday...and it's "sorry"


It depresses the hell out of me how every turn at every level there's 3-4 10 days delay--or weeks..
I currently have need of at least 8 inserts for the damn Subie extra long rear insert with the light valving..

While they have in stock long units per-assembled but valved so stiff you'd never have an appication to use them...How about a revalve?

Whew. I don't know.

any decent grease. I used to use moly-grease, the stuff used in your CV joints cause it is intended for very high pressure applications, but reports from the field seemed to indicate that it needed more frequent re-greasing. So now I use thicker grease for wheel bearings..

If it's not clear I think John means to fill the gap that you can see a couple of inches down the tube. I use Liquid Wrench Marine Grease and apply it with a length if 1/2" wide aluminum flat stick. I try to evenly fill that gap without leaving too much on the inside of the rest of the tube. Then I gently insert the shock and rotate it as I gently push it down to use the shock to redistribute the grease in that space. Then I pull it out again and remove the excess that's accummulated on the end of the shock and reinsert.

Make sure your breather hole at the end is not blocked.

Thanks for this! I just re-greased my JVAB's and I would have surely done it wrong without this info. I used a toilet brush/drill method along with rags and such to clean them out and the 1/2" aluminum stick worked awesome for applying grease!

I had 3 days of rally in soooper muddy and wet conditions (LSPR 13-14) and I probably should have regreased them after 2 days in those conditions. We'll see how they look after 100AW.
