Hi Rebecca---go fill in your name fully like we're 'spossed to...

Good news for you and AJ and maybe Vittorio and dammit Vittorio, where's those Quebec guys you said need suspenders?

We have a nice safe and easily do-able plan for the damn steering arm debacle..

Was looking at the way it was don on some 3500 hp drag car.
It will be removable and that means we can do a NON HANDED strut body so one spare will do for any position on the car..

This is good..

It'll be made in 4130 or 4140 chrome moly, and it looks like we can do the whole set up for just under $200. So much better than the stuff I did for Vittorio originally, way stronger material...

I think we should start a separate Audi suspenders thread since there is so much unique to them..

We must nail down the top mount question..

So yeah, Rebecca send many many bundles of used, non-consecutive numbered 20s, they're not traceable that way..a small brief case full should be OK..

That's rough, man. And you have lotsa kids.. Don't know how you do it. One night away and I'm all whiney and wanna go home.. Their giggles and hugs is fuel, makes me strong, but I want it every day..

I'll work on the drawing, its real simple and importantly repeatable cause its all machined not just winging it like with Vittorios orginals..That was fine for a onesey, but 3 or maybe 4 cars we want dead nuts..and man we got it so the struts are non-handed..

Piccies will come as soon as I load the software into this machine.
But:
A)new tubes including 4 rear Subie length, 6 BMW length and 6 or so "normal" (Subie/VW/Volvo/Toyota removable) length done and in the car to drop off for plating.

B.) 21 shock shafts cut for screwdriver slot

C) 21 strut bodies back from chrome plating..

So as soon as I can pack alll the shafts and pistons and circlips and guts, the inserts can be sent down to Bilstein for valving and assembly..

Bilstein as of yesterday is about 7 weeks out on delivery

Blake, find the reciepts on the shocks you sent and get a copy to me...
William Timmins, you're going to miss your chance to get the shock shafts modded since you haven't got the shafts here...

Let's get what the top pins for each of you guys want nailed down:
A) 20mm big "Ford GrA pin" for mounting into 7/8" spherical bearing
B.) 15mm bearing seat for "Subie" style ball bearing mount
C) what have you????

AJ Audi? ..................................4 struts Audi ears+ steering arms
Blake Celica? ...........................2 struts ?? Ears
John Reed Corolla? 2 struts........2 struts....Subie
Rebecca Audi?..........................4 struts Audi ears+ steering arms
Dave Kern................................4 struts...fawking annoying BMW muffler clamps
Simon Wright............................4 struts Subie ears-----Subie tops

Now that the chroming is done, its REALLY time for more moolah from EVERYBODY

It came in more than was quoted for simple chroming, they polished the hell out of the things which I had said not to do, but they adjusted the price $300 but it was still around $33 per tube..

So youse guys, dig around in the couch and between the seats in the car and scrape some $$ up..

Now to find the software for downloading piccies from the camera.

Sent up knuckles wrapped in cash for the 50s, guess we are going for the GrpA tops and I can modify the car strut tower to suit. I need to get my caster/camber sorted out anyway....

Also sent up the 40mm stuff for full refresh including new green paint. cool smiley Just need to figure out tops for those if I need to change them to match the 50s (the 40s will be the spares, so as long as the complete 40mm strut/knuckle/hub will bolt into the car, I don't care if the individual pieces are at all interchangable). I will just have a complete unit built up and ready to drop in so just the top hats and bottom need to match.

Plus whatever else we talked about that I can't remember, to get both sets sorted and ready for OTR. If I can get the 40s back fairly quickly I can get the car back into something testable (and figure out top hat stuff for alignment).

My co-driver said he needs excitement to stay awake, so I guess we will try and go fast or go upside down at OTR.

Oooooooh looookie:

So fresh out of the platers they're still warm...
Heading out with these and hundreds of dollars of bronze...

Boys I still have to know what top mounts to finish these pins:

Need it all in one place pretty f***ing quickly.

Remember the choices are Ford Group A for spherical bearings
or Subie-rooo for ball bearing/rubber
