ETA on finished BMW soospenders? Dang 'ol hillclimb group shuffled around the schedule and first race of the year is now April 20-21 and second is May 11-12. Any chance we'll be rassin' on 50s?

Dave

I dunno, we'll see how long it takes to make another jig for that morphodite front glorified muffler clamp bolt up..
Jeeeez! I make a nice 40mm jig, sell one set and you just have to have 50s..
Wait! You have some nice stuff now!

Doooood we have to be careful cause we can't fawk up and we have to move things inboard. And spring clearance.
And make those top mounts...

At 2-4 miles ran 5-6 times throughout the weekend, the 40 mm stuff will be fine at the hill climbs.
The bigger question is will you have the BMW ready for a real rally this year? Idaho, Olympus, or Mendocino are all calling.

Not asking because of me - I've got the 40s which have worked great so far. Asking more for that other car because its slammed on its nuts on what I'm sure is a pair of heated springs and blown out OEM shocks.

Have a compomotive with a cracked lip...just ordered up some fancypants Braids for myself and the other Compact customer but I'm guessing fitment will be similar. My car has wider E46 front arms, but I suspect most will stick with the stock arms. On the new wheels we ordered up with an extra ~10mm off offset to give us more inner clearance so you can tilt things a touch. Figured with the increased camber we still won't need to worry about the tire/fender clearance.

Edit: car slammed back down on OEM struts now has 3-4 degrees of camber with the same spacers installed. Handled great on the ice! smiling smiley

You send it yet?
What's the tracking number
Longer arms won't change flange to strut body/spring clearance will it? Thats a function of the knuckle design and the muffler clamps..

So fresh out of the platers they're still warm...
Heading out with these and hundreds of dollars of bronze...

Boys I still have to know what top mounts to finish these pins:

Need it all in one place pretty f***ing quickly.

Remember the choices are Ford Group A for spherical bearings
or Subie-rooo for ball bearing/rubber

OK you guys wanting 50s if you don't post the strut tops you want, I am going to..

John Reed Toiletta Commodah........2 x Ford top
Blake Lind Toiletta Sillycar...............2 x Ford top
Simon Wright................................4 x Subie top

Rebecca.. Audi.....................................4 x Ford top
AJ Johnson....Audi................................4 x Ford top

Dave Kern.......BMW..............................4 x Ford top

I'm heading down NOW to cut these tops.

Is that what you did for me on the 40mm ones? I'm fine with that as long as we're able to get some tops that'll work with them. Hopefully tops aren't like the cars...Fix Or Repair Daily.

What size bearing does the "ford top" use, is it metric?

Where can I buy a shperical bearing to fit that?

If it's the 7/8" bearing I'm remembering then yes go ahead and make them that size.

The pin is 20mm , the upper and lower stainless spacers take it out to .875" and incorporate a shoulder for the nut to hit on and make the normal sperical bearing into a "high misalignment" bearing..

22 is the industry standard seen on real GroupA stuff and 22 is .866"..but metric costs more so we go to the next step up and save some valuta

For us we're on the standard GC Group N for the rear and we have those fancy schmancy camber/caster Whiteline tops (Com "C"winking smiley . So they bring the front tops inboard and rearward about 3/4". Specs say "Extra +0.75 deg caster & -0.5 deg camber".

If you do 14mm, 16mm or 18mm pins I can build spherical mounts including adapters. FWIW, the Vorshlag bearings have a 19mm ID.

So, John. Say (just for shiggles) "a person" wants a set of JVAB 50mm Soooper Bichin' Spusenders of their very own (or even say, the "JVAB 4Xmm Stainded-nerd Bichin' Spusenders" ), only - they want 'em for a vehickul that is highly-unlikely that JVAB has a Spusension Soloo-shun ('cuz like, NOBODY has any kinda Spusension Soloo-shun for this vehickul). WHAT pray-tell, would a person have to hold a tape-measure, piece of string, foot (with or without extra toes), bathroom-scale, whateva' - up against to say: "Hey there JVAB, the Spusension is X times Y by Z over three to the fiddy-fith power, carry the one and divide by three = yea-many inches/milly-meters long - gimme dat boinger wot's got that funky-green paint all-over it"?

Yeah, Ima.... erm, "a person" is chargin' their phone, right now....
