wheel liner material?

In rebuilding the neon, it looks like my fender/wheel well liners need replacement. What is a good material to use and what thickness?

thanks in advance.

I used 1/8" HDPE on the XR's. super durable, and inexpensive. If you do white, it makes working on the car nice since it reflects light so well.

I used 1/8" LDPE. I've had the same fender liners in my Civic since I built it and no issues. Molds to the curves better than HDPE. Although you're in CA so you don't have to worry about the cold as much. My sheet of HDPE I used under the floors is hard as a rock right now in the winter. Bonus, use the LDPE to make mudflaps as well. I just bought a giant sheet of it, like 4'x8' and have been chipping away at it here and there.

(Sorry John! The Smartass in me just couldn't resist takin' a poke - and you have to admit: you left that WIDE open.....)

I'm not the one who needs 'em! I wuz asking if that's what he thought he needed. I already said white paint..

I don't understand why they're on fawkin street cars and understand still less adding weight, and bother and extraneous junk on a rally car...maybe a discreet panel if the back of the headlights are exposed.

John, on some cars, like the front of the XR for instance, there are large pockets that trap debris and such, making a wheel liner a very smart idea. The rear of the XR does not neet one, just white paint as you suggest. Before deciding they are a waste of effort, lets look at a picture of his wheel opening.

I said small strategic local things I could see. That is not the idea conveyed with the term panty liners or whatever the fawk the big black flappy bullshit is in roadcars...

Which is also no clear from the term "wheel liners". I was thinking of the stuff ice racers line the wheels with...

I'll admit it, I first thought is was a retro thing to add white sidewalls to the tire.
