Looking at doing up the brake system, any recomendations where to get ahold of a decent (but not too decent) hand brake?

Simple bracket behind an Xrattie lever, plumb it in.
I can send you a lever, I have maybe 5 extras cause they're so easy to graft in.
Volvo lever is a bitch.

You ready for some serious discs and calipers?
11.75 x 1.25 discs? Only $40 (and a nice blue hat for a low low price)

What brakes do you have in the rear? Disc or Drum? CNC staging brakes are decent, more decent than that might have to cross the pond.

about 11.3" solid disc, 2 piston caliper with 38mm aka 1.5" pistons.. Been my "default" rear caliper for 25 years. .625 master and carefully postioned point and they work perfectly. Don't need to put both feet on the dash to brace yousef, just a easy tug and EEErrrk!

Yeah its a good caliper. Decent pad size and same pad as Portched 911 from 68-74 or Saab 99 same years so plenty of choice of pads. cast iron but hey for $7.50, and good size you can console yourself that the last in the back better-er with all the rocks that get carried up.. Another super nice detail is the inlet is in the front of the piston not the end like say 99/900 Saab or 914 rear where its on the inboard end of the caliper so the hard line has to loop out in the breeze---and get hammered repeatedly..Coming in in the front rocks can't touch it..

If you just want plug and play with no fab, the CNC staging brake is the one to get. Quality part, $125 or so.

Yeah I know the pad shape, but its a big focker with a 54mm radial depth. Using a Mitsubaru brembo rear pad (the shocking horror it actually fits) being its 45mm makes thangs smaller and lighter and probably more flavors to choose from too.
