Dry Sump?

Any of you Vdub guys out there using dry sump setups? We're in the process of a build right now (sorta a build, more of a retrofit) and man does that oil pan ever look like it could take a beating where it is. Just curious if anybody has run a dry sump or even if you think it's not necessary. Thanks!

wouldn't even think about it....way too many belts to catch rocks in, we have enough ground clearance for a pan....lateral loads are rarely oil-starving (not too many G's when you are sliding). Plus we change the oil religiously...only 4.5 qts makes the pocket book happy.

If you have the parts, go for it, but I would sell it and buy more tires
