Love the car.

Come to think of it, I have never even been in a rotary powered car.... and a friend has an RX8. huh.

Done right, power and gearing all in order---like 5.35 axle ratio, they are mind blowing AND hilarious.
They sound---and go like a big 500cc moto-cross bike and sound similar, too.

They were always let down by flimsy shells, primitive vague steering, nonexistent brakes, boxes with giant gaps----but so was almost everything else, at least these things WAILED!

Thankl you for the rides Steve Roberts where ever you are ya crazy loon!

In true rallyanarchy style... You get my PM John? I don't think this forum does the pop-uppy alert thingy

Or maybe ape, barmy, bats in the belfry, batty, berserk, bonkers*, cracked, crazed, cuckoo, daft, delirious, demented, deranged, dingy*, dippy, erratic, flaky, flipped, flipped out, freaked out, fruity, idiotic, insane, kooky, lunatic, mad, mad as a March hare, mad as a hatter, maniacal, mental*, moonstruck, nuts, nutty, nutty as fruitcake, of unsound mind, out of one's mind, out of one's tree, out to lunch, potty, psycho, round the bend, schizo, screw loose, screwball, screwy, silly, touched*, unbalanced, unglued, unhinged, unzipped,

or maybe
aberrant, bewildered, confused, crazed, crazy, demented, deranged, deviant, deviate, disarranged, disordered, distracted, disturbed, flipped, flipped out, hallucinatory, incoherent, insane, irrational, lightheaded, lunatic, mad, maniac, maniacal, manic, off one's head, out of one's head, out of one's skull, rambling, raving, unhinged, unreasonable, unsettled, wandering

or possibly
aroused, bad, crazed, demoniac, demoniacal, devilish, diabolic, diabolical, fiendish, fired, frantic, frenetic, frenzied, hellish, impious, infernal, insane, inspired, mad, maniacal, manic, possessed, satanic, serpentine, unhallowed, violent, wicked

Than just being mean and saying it sounds fuckin insane like 40 times..

Cause it CAN be done, but there is no point, sad as it is, to do it..
If the rules even allowed.

Eh. I've put $10k of engine into shells that were far worse than that.

I have 2 memorable Rotary tales. My good friend i Phoenix had a Rotary pickup with a wicked 13b in it, and his buddy had a MGB with a Bridge ported 13b. That MGB was wicked fast, and revved forever....

the car is actually quite solid when it comes to the things that matter! when it comes time to do body work, ill be busy with the rear and front glass areas, but such is life. For 400 bucks, its worth it.

The guys in NZ and AUS i've been talking too said an Rx-2 in this condition there would still command 4000 to 6000 dollars (US if we did conversions)

Wow...why aren't you down at the post office buying a bunch of overseas postage??

There was a Chevette across the street hollering at me for several years, thankfully it has moved on. But now there is an old Morris Minor sitting in a field at a customers house that has been giving me a come hither look the last couple years.

That's crazy. The RX2 I had in college I paid $450 for, did all the bodywork and paint and redid the interior and sold it for $2300 looking like this: http://imgur.com/a/x0POY

Back then never would have thought they would ever become collectible.

Yeah, and junky Rabbit GTIs are going for $2000+.

And when I was looking for another 1st-gen RX-7 shell, everything was $2500-7000.

Fortunately there's areas where things don't rust and these cars are more common and towing is expensive but it's a hell of a lot cheaper than buying locally.

(Hey Alex! Can you fit an SA shell into a flat-rate box? If it fits it ships, right?)
