To quote the sage: "Darlin, you look purttier than a new set o' snow tires!"

Looks good. I wish I could pull the trigger on one for my next daily driver... Just can't get past my lack of skills and the expense of paying someone else to fix it... smiling smiley

What are the details on that body kit?

It is the CM3C body kit from Reconsales.nl:

BMW COMPACT M3 pricelist excl Vat.

Bodykit BMW COMPACT E36

Frontwing a 175,- 350,-
Rear archer a 165,- 330,-
Bonnet Front 390,-
Bonnet Rear 390,-
Front Spoiler 330,-
Rear bumper 300,-
Rear spoiler 270,-
Door left or Right 420,-
Lamp pot (nightface) 195,-

We've discussed getting a group together, getting a kit sans doors and bonnets, and pulling molds off of them thus being able to produce them domestically. Between the domestic rally world and 318ti.org there might be a demand. Not really my bailiwick though.

The 4th Estate is relevant no more. I stop for little old ladies, kids and the disabled. This story is irrelevent, and it smells like the one about the Spanish Skyscraper with no elevators. Anybody fact check it?

Ooh-I'm not usually a body-kit guy-but me wanty!

And Wilson, don't take the slam at BMW drivers too seriously..there are exceptions..and I'm sure you are one of the exceptions.

Just like NOT EVERY driver of a Corvette is a balding,midlife crisis,driving 35mph in a 50mph,old fart,NOT EVERY SINGLE BMW driver is a complete,inconsiderate , fucking prick.

True story-yesterday,someone in a Beemer stopped for me when I was walking from my car to our shop-and let me pass-rare-but it happens.

I've actually witnessed people in Bmw's use their turn signal-again-rare-but it happens.

But I'll bet $$ if you call the dealer and talk to a parts guy, turn signal bulbs/parts are just something they don't sell for shit.

Seriously.

I have some friends who drive BMW's that ACTUALLY DON"T seem to be pricks(well..actually- one's kinda douchey..)

But like many stereotypes-there's usually some truth to the stereotype...something about the brand attracts the total self-absorbed asshat.

I certainly don't need an article to tell me that.

Again-not that the guy next to him in the A5 or G50 isn't also, but I'm betting on that BMW guy.

Not that it's the only brand, either(see Prius thread elsewhere on the Anarchy).

My city up by my title here says Simi Valley, but I work every day(and have for 10 years) in Westlake Village, Ca.-where the everyman's Toyota Camry is replaced by a 3 series.

I may not know BMW mechanicals very well-but BMW drivers I know VERY well.

This has happened countless times....The scenario is whatever -3 series -5 series x3- x5-doesn't matter..is slightly in front of me in the next lane...

To my kid I say...

"Watch this guy-he's gonna not signal-and just cut-me off..wait..there it is!

Almost like clockwork..again not saying some Caddy/Ford /Audi/whatever drivers don't ever do that too- but if they are in a BMW you'd better watch for it.

And if the guy in the Navigator does try to run you over-you know what brand his other car at home probably is.....

Re: New Toy!

On the docket for this falls projects is making molds of the kit I've already got. I'm not going to deal with the "already available" bits like the hood and hatch, but will try to do something with the other parts. I could start making molds now, but I'm trying to get my ass in gear to make Ojibwe and I think before I make molds, I should see how well the parts actually fit. If my experience with other fiberglass kits is any indication, I may have my work cut out for me.

The good news is if I can get my ass in gear, you can save the $800-1100 it costs to ship a complete set...

EDIT - I have a slightly different kit than the Reconsales kit so it may not be quite as much widebody, but you'll still get the higher arches.

Dave
