When I finally figured out who had crashed on stage 6, I was bummed.

Sheeeeit. Saw a pic of the tail damage and thought it would be a not-too-bad reshell. Sorry to see the hit in the nose as well. Assume everybody is OK, since the center section looks good.

When you have a chance James, I think it'll help to write out a detail de-briefing type report...

Charge up the cell phone and call sometime when I have some ciggies and we can talk and try and figure out why you're not up there fighting with Dave Kerm in that Bee EM thing and Ian Topping in the 240..., you should be..

How prophetic, from the very first post...

He's a new driver. This was his second event and is driving a real wheel drive car. Getting up to speed is not fast or easy and you can easily have an off, such as his. He can eventually get up to Ian's speed. (Although Ian has problems of his own now!)

Yep - too much pedal, not enough brains ha! Tapped a tree on the driver's back quarter (was like R4- n.c or some such), and it grabbed and positioned the face into another tree. We were really cookin' for sure; lots of 5s and 6s got my foot a bit used to pushing, I guess. That tightens part, plus the n.c. was it. Great times! I'm already looking for another shell smiling bouncing smiley

Oh, and this time, I won't take forever to build it. DEFINITELY ready for PFFR 2014, and hopefully something a lot sooner.

Yeah, the cage (Izzy's!) appears unscathed. *I* think the shell is toast - it's bent in some weird ways inside... Of course, we didn't have the camera on, figures, right? Only injury is some anti-sub belt mashing of the 'goods' eye popping smiley - I was thinking of a vasectomy anyway, so - DEAL!

Could you chop off the bad and graft on some good metal from a donor car?

That is the mirror of what I did last year. Thought I had it saved 'til the passenger rear caught a tree and turned the nose dead into the lumber...

Indeed, it wasn't really that big of an "oops", doesn't deserve the damage it caused. Just such a fast section and that drop off the edge was enough to make it into a very big boom for a tail just a little too wide out on a long corner.

If this is the case, your lap belts were likely not tight enough or were improperly fitted.

I was sad when I heard about this.
On the plus side, on the next car you can do the single rear window and make the exterior look as pretty as the inside and underhood!
