DMS Nitrogen Charge
February 11, 2014 07:15PM
Thinking of rebuilding my DMS suspension. There is a small amount of oil at the top of one strut. They were bought in 2003, but only have 5 events on them.

Curious if anyone can fill me in on how they are recharged? There is no schrader valve or any external charge port. Also wondering what the easiest way to get oil quantity specs?

I should probably send them out, but always want to try first.
Help is greatly appreciated.

The best thing to do is to send them to Odi at Feal Suspension. He will charge you around $50 per strut and can even straighten the tubes if they have a slight bend. You won't be able to do it yourself and you will never get any info from DMS. (I used to be the North American DMS importer, I know these things.)

Unless you want to drill and tap a hole for a shrader valve, the only other way (to my knowledge) is to fill then and add the oil and close them inside a pressurized chamber. I've had mine redone at an Ohlins/Penske service center here in nascar land.
