No the simple ordinary 4/5" grinder with a flexy disc and maybe 36 grit disc for the nasty stuff, progressing to 60 or 80 for final..

Interesting build! But just curious isn't the toyota 8 inch on the wide side for a cortina? Oh just a suggestion... perhaps look into the 4 link kit for group 4 escorts. There's only a 3.5 inch difference in wheelbase and I've seen one crammed in a volvo drift car where there is a significantly larger difference in wheelbase. Gives you everything so should be nice and simple and would save time over building/ putting together your own.

Started carving the half shafts. Its going to take a while though because we can only go so fast with matt's lathe.

Yoda 57 7/16 inches end to end bare. I'm gonna say it's close I'll check it out and post results on the Cortina rearend
