Same idea as before. 9" is absurd and pointless overbuild, and expense.

if you like the diffs available

halfshafts, diff and pinion bearings are bigger on Toiletta 8" than many Ford 8.8"
And theres nice 4 pinion lsd (psssssst) the the toyotter 8"

But even that is big..the guy is talkin 300 n.a. type whores powerz

that means even the Dana 30 thing could work fine

I suggest the 8.8 purely because of available diffs (lots) including a stock clutch LSD, decent OEM 13" disc brakes with plenty of competition pads, and lots of R&P sets available cheaply from Ford. If you are going to forgo the panhard bar, there are plenty of Watts links available for it. I'd get one from a 2005+ Mustang if the width will work for you, but it's likely too wide for a Cortina and would require cutting down and custom axles. Figure than any 8.8 you find will have to be shortened.

But John is right. Lots of axles will work for 300hp. But the add-ons are what you should also be looking for.

Kinda thinking keeping everything ford, mazda or custom, and mazda only because of the relationship with ford

An axle is an axle. Ford didn't make the one in the original car...they bought them in. Mazda doesn't make their axles, they buy them from a supplier as well... And Volvo didn't make their axles either,
GKN, ZF, Dana, Hitachi or even "like whatever". Its just a part. Bolt in onto your Ford and its "Your Ford part".. You don't have to tell anybody unless you want to---but it doesn't make any difference..

You wanna go 150mph---which is just a figure pulled out of the air, then you do what you need to to do 150mph...

I say this to help you sharpen your focus but : You're doing a lot of "I wanna do this that and this....." then when you get suggestion you say, but I "wanna ___________"

I have a hard time devoting much effort to projects when the motivations for decisions are all just whims or everything in the details is all "cause I want to"

Goals cam be a big whim, but the means to attain the goals should be bases on concrete things, like "Ford 8.8" is a 2 pinion diff, while Dana 30 and Toyota are 4 pinion design" (2 side gears and 2 planets vs 2 side gears and 4 planets) Solid reason of strength, price, availability, safety.

would have to say i dont know very much about rearend internals and many others things that is why i asked for help on this site to ferret out ideas and try to pick and choose the best that could get me to my goals. So i really cant take offense by what your saying and apreciate your comments,
i know the car i build will be whim based cause im not going to make a living with it. but have it for pure fun as i am a grown up kid. but the goals of 300hp 9k rpm=150 in top gear should not be reaching for the stars.
Sorry if any one thought i wasted their time

looks like the supra rearend mostly comes stock with disc brakes as the 8.8
spider gears=pinions what a hurdle of thought

Only thing you want out of the Supra is the diff and maybe ring and pinion.....Supra is IRS...No need for the complication....If you want to go 150 you are going to want to budget for some good brakes...

Again: You better plan for some sort of front hub/spindle set up with serious bearings
The outer bearing is tiny, the inner is ---I believe---19mm...

You did say you want to turn didn't you?
You know about deflection when things are spindly? And then "pad knock back"
