i have been puttering on the mustang some
this is a second car i picked up in a trade

this is what it looked like when i got it, it had been a c prep autocrosser then a rallycross car and now it's slowly becoming a performance rally car

And another gratituous shot of the car...

Wow, that is a blast from the past.

I remember that car being built up in the Palmdale/Lancaster area for Chris Acker.
Was just chatting with Pete Morris (it's first co-driver) about it the other week, wondering where it was.

It seemed like it was a pretty cool car.

It was, and sort of still is. But, the cage is in no way legal for US rally, and Richard took all the parts off it, and cut it up pretty bad when he used this as a donor for his own SN95 Mustang. It will live on, but our shop will use it to experiment with and it's not likely to ever see another rally stage.

Old Class 6 off road car, the Mad Max of rallying: Camaro, Mustang, Rolls Royce, Gremlin, Pinto, Cutlass, etc... Very inspirational to my own project car, the Safari/Expedition/Rally - Celica.

Nice mix of old and new playthings there..fwd,rwd..awd..nice gig mr Gittin has there.

So he's running super bitchens on the Toyota-sweet.

Wonder what he's running for suspenders on the stang and the Fiester?

why not?

That car has had a long history. A fellow on Corner Carver's built it, then sold it to Vaughn who is using it as intended.

it looks like the mustang could use some suspension work if he's going to play on the dirt
