at last i got a chance to drive the mustang last night.
the steeda 5 link rear suspension and T2R are money well spent, thank you to whoever bought that bit of kit!

now i get to spend some time going over the whole car

didn't that kit not allow for full exhaust? and it needed something like turn downs or side exhaust

Wow, that is tighter than an ugly..well anyway not much room. One thing that can be done on some cars is to cut the stock floor to allow room for exhaust then weld boxes over it, similar to rear shock or control arms.

i was thinking about using 180deg mufflers and exit the exhaust in front of the rear wheels

Out the side , especially that far forward is not a good deal. Ground clearance gets pretty sketchy. Do you have room to drop under the axle aka Volvo, MGB or Datsun? We used to do that with Camaros back in the day. While it does hang down maybe as much as side dumps, it isn't perpendicular to all objects. Years ago GM released data indicating the actual horsepower difference between a '69 Camaro and '69 Corvette was about 30 hp I think. Every 90* bend equals 15 ft of straight pipe for restriction. Camaro was a single muffler sideways behind the axle so 90 up 160ish over and 90 in, 90 out vs nearly straight in and out on the 'Vette.

The fox body does not have a lot of room to run a side exit, or rally much room for anything. Heading straight under the axle should be fine, you can even armor the tubes with some angle iron on the bottom to give it a fighting chance. Maybe gontonsome oval tubing under the axle ?

Why not run glass packs and then forget the 180° muffler?
You could cut the floors and move the exhaust up, and that would help in the side exit exhaust.
But that's a lot of work. I'm all for stacks out the hood.
