I am going to be mounting my Saab 900 radiator and Cossie 2wd intercooler soon. Is there a good way to remount the alternator where the A/C was so that the intake can be rotated 90 degrees? The 120 degree mounting looks a bit off and I would like to keep things clean and organized in the engine bay.

That would be awesome. I have seen a lot of people who just have a turnbuckle type setup that looks like it would vibrate like hell.

Thomas i have som pieces burned out but not yet welded. I'll try and find them --I'm sure you and Graham can zap 'em together straight...Thet are like my very early kits:

Ya know, like jigged up so that they clear things, and you can use the stock alternator and hoses and get a good belt wrap?

Let me see.

I used a early 90s Ford Ranger alternator and mount which also required a change to all the other pulleys. I also used some Mustang or Turbopoop p/s that had a remote reservoir and bracket. Figuring out right tensioners and belt length was the hardest part. Belts were a bit on tight side but survived.

Just took the car to get some groceries and see if it was making noise, it was. Looks like I took out the rear beam bushing. Inner metal looks to have separated from the rubber.

Any suggestions on a new one? I was told a hockey puck might be able to be converted.

Looks like a good solution.

Naw. I just went with what was available at the junk yard. The kit you made came like two years later and is a much better/easier solution.
Did you see Jan is trying to sell the struts you sold him on ebay? I thought about getting them for spares but have other things that need to see my funds spent on. Like impending child birth bills. smiling smiley

I ditched the rubber mounts and went this route. Also added a solid mount for the stock rear differential.

4 discs and 2 sleeves. $89.00...for under $4 in materials and parting a tube.

They really think their time is worth something.. Amazing.

Yeah I ordered some Powerflex Polyurethane bushings. No way I could justify $90 on a two tubes and four washers.

I have John's supra diff mount which isn't solid so I really wouldn't want to make the beam mounts solid anyway.

John, got your sketch and modeled the part up. What size are the mounting holes? M12?
