I run 9.4 on my heavier mk2 GTI and havent really had any braking issues on gravel. If the upgrage to 10.1s is available for cheap i would upgrade otherwise i could care less, at least for gravel. As long as you have some decent venteds upfront and decent pads youll be ok

If you need things like spare engine mounts and some other scirocco goodies i can pass em on to you at no charge. I used to have mk2 16v scirocco daily drivers and have some parts for it so LMK. Not sure of exactly whats still around but i know i have some motor mounts for sure

3/16" is sorta a bit heavy, 1/8 looks wimpey.

Go with spacers and fender mods for Tall Pines. Modify the ears later if necessary.

I used 1/4" for my ears.

I'd use 3/16", 1/8"is way too light IMO.
