Did your car "lose" its tune or something? for some reason i thought once a car was tuned VIA ODB2 it would hold the tune even if you disconnected the battery?

if you can change tunes easily , you might want to do your first rally on the stock tune. as you may notice things (handling) that you may not with more power . and it may be easier to focus on taking a good line and carrying momentum, when the penalty for not carrying momentum is a lot greater.

Not that i would have that kind of self restraint. nope. i'd be loading the hottest tune on there possible ... lol

So I recently got some work done!
Inner And Outer Tie rods are new
New Control arms up front
Braided Brake Lines up front
Knuckle is installed on drivers side
(john has my other knuckle)
Just waiting to pay for some suspension bits and brake bits
Then I can put them in when they are finished and get here
I will proceed too move the car to a more permanent location then my garage where I will continue working on it.
The rear requires a lot of TLC as well. New arms (need to be reinforced)
New urethane bushings all around.
Modifications too the mounts for the rear coilovers.
Rear disk swap (solid rear rotor)

John I know I showed you the CFM control arms which aren't the right style... But would something like these work well?

Those are dominant engineering arms...run away from those..even on a street car.

Countless Focus Forum posts on them breaking.

Guy makes nice "LOOKING" stuff with nice welds....thats it.

Both of our cars run the CFM arms. We've sheared one heim and badly bent one of the arms in two separate incidents. Also different arms involved in each. John has a pair of wrc spec alum. front track control arms that I'd love to get the dimensions of! They look like the attached images.

It's a dimensional issue not fabrication. Thanks though!

Andrew K-You are running the CFM's over the stockers just to get camber, or for other reasons?

I know they have updated their design, but I'm still not convinced they are stronger than the stock front arms..I could be wrong though...

Did you have an off when you bent one and when you sheared off the heim on the other?

Or just hit something?

Camber and strength. The tubes are 1" O.D. .156" wall DOM! We started blowing balljoints out of the stock arms at a rate of two per race. By that I mean you could feel/hear it and physically move it up and down in the socket with ease as it crushed the gusher bearing plate below the ball. Not sure if it was a heat issue as we don't run heatshields on them or just a materials issue. The Raybestos Professional grade are the only ones I know of to use a fully encased composite housing with lubrication channels vs the typical and obviously weak gusher bearing design. We did not ever run them though as we moved to the CFM stuff. I would if I were to go back to the stock design.

To be clear the CFM arms take a beating and keep going. Are they perfect? No. Do I have any faith the stock ones would have held up as well? No I do not.

As to the offs; sort of. I ran a ditch for a bit at Tallpines 2013 and hit a berm that almost rolled us sideways. Monster hit. It bent the 3/4" rod end initially which stiffened the steering to about what it feels like with no power steering in a 2.5 ton car while on slicks in a parking lot in Cali in the dead of summer x5. My arms and shoulders were SORE till about Wed of the next week. We missed it at service as punctures were the issue of the day. Later that day we had to pass the jammed gearbox car of P.Richard and found a small beachball sized rock on a flat tire where the rod end decided to let go. So double hit really and once on a solid rim with no tire cushion.

The bent arm was done by my teammate and he says he doesn't remember a big hit, so you'd do better to ask his codriver as drivers never notice that sort of thing aha.
