I may be grabbing a front set off of you at that time too... I am trying to move some other parts off my shelves so that I can do so. There will be a big thread soon of a pile of stuff for sale from me so that I can get serious with my build. Momma is adamant that I don't dip into the kids clothing funds...
The other two guys are now so absorbed in some track stuff they are working on (google wolf racing) that they haven't even driven their XR's this entire year. I will ask them though before I head out your way. I wont be acting on behalf of them however anymore as this is how it seems to end up. ttyl, Tomi |

Besides the stock nuts and washers I grabbed from underneith already pulled diffs, I have 1 more set of the flanged nuts (Esteban, EspaceF1fan, and motorhead have a set reserved already). The stock stuff is plated and will hopefully get sent to me soon so I can get a count. My guy sent the box to the wrong address and it got sent back to him. Anyway, below is a picture of the flanged nuts themselves

There's a shoulder on the adaptor pretty close by, we have to be able to put a wrench or socket on the nuts. Usually a wrench or socket is the best way to tighten nuts. YRMV The CV adaptor was done with the OEM Stupra nuts in hand cause I pulled the diffs myself and I always save all hardware I can. I got my kit in this last round John. My concern with not having a weld-sert(weldable insert) is crushing the formed sheetmetal "beam" that is tack welded to the floor of the car that the stock thingy bolts to. That would be assuming I put a bolt in the trunk and a nut under the car or vice versa.
If thats a non issue then I will just drill and use some bolts. If its a dangerous issue by only using the stock points and crushing is an issue what I will likely do is just find some thick wall tubing and use them as an insert to slide over the bolts and use as a anti crush setup. I'm not trying to cause issues or anything just trying to solve issues percieved or otherwise in the field in a timely matter. This car will drive by Friday morning!!!!!!! |
