It's another Craigslist find for Open Light people in the Midwest: 1999, 4dr, auto; $700 obo.

http://bloomington.craigslist.org/cto/5100456460.html

I have no connection to owner and don't know any more than what the ad says - expect the lady says it's a nice car with no other problems.

$50 says you can push your hand through the strut towers if they aren't well-ventilated already.

By the time you can see the rust on the outside, the body's already done!

I thought Subies were according to every owner "built like tanks"...

I thought they were shockingly thin stampings myself but as we all know too well, I don't know shit..

Oh they ARE built like tanks. They drive just fine right up until the point where (in my personal experience) the rust is so bad that you can remove the seatbelts by tugging gently. Subaru did a good job of engineering product that fails gracefully.

Now if they could figure out what rust protection is...

Rust to me is a slight gold tinge on a few bolts.
Subaru cars in the early 90s were almost exclusively sold in non-rusty climates so it wasn't an issue until people started dragging them from heavenly places like Colorado into hell.

Grant seems to have forgotten about the other bastion of Scoobies, New England. I haven't seen a Loyale on the road in months, and there are maybe three survivors from the 1970s left...

My 03 Legacy wagon has one fender and two quarter panels partially reconstructed from bondo, crappy sheet metal from Tractor Supply, and horrific welding...207,000 miles of bliss.

You haven't seen one in MONTHS? In 2015?

That is a bit like saying "I am so poor I had to lay off two of my butlers."

I thought Dick Cheney disappeared anybody in Wyoming not driving a pickup truck. Also, Wyoming has fewer people than VERMONT, let alone the overpopulated mess of North Massachusetts.
