Neon project
September 16, 2008 05:48PM
1997 p-class neon. Last raced 2002 BR stages. Last driven on the road legally 2005, last started Fall 2007.

I told myself as soon as I finish the house I'll race again. And then it was once I finish school. Now with twins on the way, I figure there's no chance, so I should get rid of it so it won't taunt me anymore.

SCCA log book (no idea what it'd need to be RA legal)
Cage by TAD using 1.5" X .120.
Terratrip 202+ computer
Terratrip terraphone pro intercom.
Expired Sabelt camlock 5 point harnesses.
4-14" al. wheeels with beat up Michelins
4-14" al. wheels with old bridgestones
4-15" al. wheels with street tires
Somewhere around 8 14" steel wheels.
Lightpod with 2 good PIAA lights ( 1 corner, 1 pencil)
Spare motor (30,000 mi)
Spare passenger doors, fenders, rear bumper, etc.
Pictures available on request.

Needs a lot of work... $800 BO. Located in New Ipswich, NH
Delivery possible in the Northeast.

So THAT'S the rally Neon I saw on 123 a few years back!

I'm only 10 miles away! And I have a kid on the way in six weeks...want an XR4Ti shell with a legal nowhere cage and custom rust?

<So THAT'S the rally Neon I saw on 123 a few years back!>

Yep, if it was white with a green trunk.

<I'm only 10 miles away! And I have a kid on the way in six weeks...>

Congratulations!! We've officially got 7 weeks left, but were told not to be surprised if they came a few weeks early.

<want an XR4Ti shell with a legal nowhere cage and custom rust?>

My wife would love that, get rid of one project only to bring home another. Maybe once the kids are out of the house.

Yeah, I know. I'm a putz. If I had a nickel for every car I ever had that needed to be raced I'd have almost a quarter by now.

There has to be a middle ground between Kids and never rallying.

(I have a 3 1/2 year old and a 16 month old)

Winning lottery tickets?

Moonshining?

Lobbying your congressman for a personal earmark?

Kids and health insurance are expensive, man.

I'm going down to DC to bum $83 billion off the Fed, wanna come along?

Piper and I are also considering opening a All-Natural Water Birthing Center in the back 40. We have a beautiful setting. There were 3 otters swimming around earlier this week and two deer this morning.

I'm in. You sure that's enough though? 83 billion doesn't go as far as it used to.

I'll check with Amy but somehow don't think it'll fly.

Anyway, to get back on topic so the forum admins don't get all pissy:

No, we're going to Nashua. It's the closest hospital with a NICU in case the kids decide to come too early.

Oh boy....must see. This could be a great option for me to roll on "Middle Dam in" next July...

Does it run or is it just a rolling shell?

Yeah, it ran/drove last fall. Then I took the battery out for something else and haven't tried to start it since.
