Are those called the j-type or whatever?
My dad seems to think that they're the same as the desirable overdrive transmission for his tr6 project.

The OVERDRIVE unit is made by "Laycock" in both cases but not sure if the internal splines etc or swapability is assured. Ask it to confirm it really will work, get part numbers and then let me know what they should cost.
I gave away 3 Volvo trannies and truth is only thing worth anything is the OD unit but rememeber Sleezattle is still swarming with Volvos, junk yards full of STRAIGHT RUST FREE CARs so I'm sure we can find him one.
