My understanding is most of the proposed Federal legislation for "cash for clunkers" involves cars and light trucks less than 25 years old that get get less than 18 mpg, which basically makes the Rally Anarchist service vehicle market now have a floor price of $3,500 or whatever the government handout check is going to be.
There was also something about them being in running condition/registered and one ride per customer, so that rules out me getting $10,500 for the rusty Merkur shell collection. I'm also fairly certain there isn't anything eligible for purchase that I'd want in my driveway, even for cheap money (fuel efficient and "domestic"  .
The shell in the original post sounds like a good candidate to swap in the drivetrain from JV's green car, which was fairly cancerous (although salvageable if you're ambitious) when I hauled it from my parents' house to Graminal's. Andrew Steere Lyndeborough, NH KB1PJY |
