Built VW 020 Transmissions for sale
July 14, 2009 09:10PM
I have two 020 transaxles I need to unload. ( planning to upgrade to the more current cable shift style gb's...)

Both are 2Y's and are for 16v engines
Both have KAAZ diffs
Final drives are 4.81 and 4.64

The 4.81 is freshly rebuilt and is unused since rebuild: 1200.00

The 4.64 needs new diff carrier bearings/rebuild: 900.00

These will work in any 16v mk1, mk2 VW.

Excellent upgrade for a rallycross or autocross or street VW. Perhaps for entry level stage rally as well.

Send me a note or call/text
970-274-6655

Gb's are in Denver at Salta

Thanks
Scott Leonard

Both have been sold. Ironically both to local rallyists. In fact driver/codriver from the same Rabbit rally car. The 4.81 is going in the rally car, the 4.64 one is going in the codriver's rallycross car I think.

OK you want to rally. One of the things you have to do when driving is occassionally make decisions as fast as muscle reaction allows (even though we all know that is far slower than direct eye/reflexive reaction), right?

This was a case when you should have JUMPED on them and called on the phone, emailed AIM and wheatever else needed to secure them....

Not think.

There may be a good deal popping up local to me soon, another 3 way cluster-fuck deal maybe 4 way but everybody happy.
STAY TUNED.

Yeah, I was more sorting out how much NEFR bit me in the ass on costs and how much I gotta budget to run LSPR this year with everything I want to fix and/or upgrade.

I probably wouldn't see a deal like that for a long time. It'd cost me more along $1800 just to get the final drive and LSD let alone buy parts to rebuild a trans...

Dayum mang, I got my IRS Supra 4.3 ratio ANF a big ass LSD for $29.75.

Seriously.
And I put William "Steel Solutions " onto the idea and he scored 2 for $55 at the same yard.

Gotta be cheap cheap man!

If I want to be cheap, I should just switch over to the 02A. But I've got an 020 in my car right now (bone stock) and got a spare 020 sitting in my storage unit (bone stock) so I'm not really losing anything switching, I just don't know what is needed to do so.

However, I've got a 1.8 16v so I rev up just a hair over 7k, and all I've found for 02A final drives in the 4.2 range which is still an improvement but I'd think I need more of a 4.5-4.8.
