I lived this once...taken me the better part of a decade to unload shells, and piles of parts. I'm down to just a two lifetime supply of unnecessary spares, one XR street car, and a shell in the woods. One of these years I'll make a diagram/spreadsheet of all the XR4's my dad and I went through over the years.

But drop a zero and I'd probably take a hit off that pipe. My dad's still having trouble with his Focus addiction. smiling smiley

Best car Ford ever made...I'll bet every early Mustang GT collector sells their toys to buy this package.

Illness forces sale, yup his wife is sick of looking at the pile of shit in the yard.

$9000 , guy code for he doesn't really want to sell the stuff, just keeping the old lady off his ass.

hehehe It's a possibility!

I've always wondered about how much "owner perceived value" and "owner self censure of car failings" drives supply and demand for out of production cars.. or is it simply a case of, if it wasn't considered the dogs bollocks within a few years of it hitting the streets, it will never be worth a damn?

Because the value of a car, including most sport(y) cars, certainly has little to nothing to do with how good it actually is.

Saw both an XR4ti and a Scorpio driving on the interstate on the way home last night. Wow, the moon wasn't even full!

I saw an XR4Ti survivor, hey, it's the North East.. on the road today aswell.

There's/was a couple Scorpios around my neighbourhood not too long ago... Scorpios appear to me to be the far rarer of the breed. I've never driven one, but they seem to be nothing more than a quirky german 90s ford taurus.

Think of them as 109" wheelbase Xratties (rather than the XRs 102.7"winking smiley with the nice short-stroke German V6 and 3.36 axle in BACK.

The very quiet at highspeed cruise just as you'd expect in a autobahn cruiser

They're actually very good, would be better with a more reliable trans like MANUAL!!
Roomy, simple, easy to keep the motor happy (More or less same as Ranger 2,9)
