Hey guys,as it turns out,im getting medically discharged from the Army relatively soon and i wont be able to afford to transport this project back to NY.I havent taken the cladding or skirts off to check for rust on the pinch welds yet as i wasnt sure which direction i wanted to go with the car, looking from inside the doors, the holes from the cladding dont seem rusted nor are the bottoms of the doors, although there is apparent rust in the floorboards, not that bad at all though. My main plans were to make this a streetable bracket racer overall. The car runs very well, the PO put on a new starter before i purchased the car,but now for some reason the starter clicks and wont turn over. The car does run really well, and the turbo spools nicely. The interior is in shambles (hence why i wanted to turn it into a streetable bracket racer and not a comfy DD) This car will be mainly good for engine/drivetrain and body parts unless you want to turn it into a toy.It needs door glass and windshield, and as i say, most of the interior is SHOT...Im asking $500 for the car,has a clean NC title.Like i say,for most people this would just be a parts car or a donor car.Pics can be seen here: http://s191.photobucket.com/albums/z100/goobydoobydoo/1987%20Merkur%20XR4Ti/
thread where i started the tear down is here: http://merkursport.com/index.php?showtopic=20078 Car is Located on Ft. Bragg,NC.I need to sell to make sure i can financially get set for when i get discharged,i will NOT part the car out as i dont have have time to do so.If you are serious about looking at or purchasing the car PM me for my cell number which will be the easiest way of contact as life in the 82nd Airborne is insanely busy.Thank you!
