Rally Car:
Mazda 323 GTX

1988 Mazda 323 GTX Rally Car
September 26, 2013 12:18AM
I wasn't able to edit my old post, but I am putting the rally car up for sale. I had it listed last year, but decided to hang on to it. A year has passed and I have not found the time for it...so I want to let it go to someone that has the time to enjoy it. I do not want to part it out. It is located in Fayetteville, AR. I originally bought it from Dave Kern 5 years ago and have only driven it a handful of times on farmland after I purchased it. It has been in storage and hasn't been started in the last two years. It was a hill climb car that competed in the Colorado Hill Climb Series, Pikes Peak, and Rally Idaho. My plan was to rally cross and then stage rally it.

Currently the car is set up to run normally aspirated, although it needs a jump/charge (probably new battery), radiator fan, ECU tuning, rear quarter window install, wire in IAT sensor. I have the turbo parts to set it up turbo again, it just needs some additional intercooler piping fabrication.

If you plan on running stage rally, you will need new safety harnesses as these are out of date. The door X bars and roof bar would need to be redone along with the addition of an a-pillar reinforcement bar to get a rally logbook. The GTX weighs 2600 lbs with the glass windows and both skid plates installed. It is a used rally car, it has dents and scrapes.

The trailer can also be included, it was purchased from Dave Kern when I bought the GTX. It is a custom 16' steel trailer with two 3500lb axles, with trailer brakes on both axles. It has a tilting bed (with hydraulic hand pump, so no ramps are needed), it has a rail down each side (~30" wide) with a big opening in the middle, so when the car is on the trailer you have good access to the underside. Will include a Tekonsha Prodigy trailer brake controller as well.

Price Lowered! $4,000 for the car and spares, or $5,500 for the car, spares, and trailer. I've moved cities, and would like for this to sell!

BTW - I live just North of where the car is, and work just West of it.

Not that I would be able to give eyes on the vehicle any better than the seller has pictured, but thought I would mention it.
