This isn't mine and I know nothing about it. Would this cage still be legal?

I don't believe that cage was ever legal.

It's a SEMA car, not an actual rally car.

Here's the thread from the last time it came up for sale:

I'm pretty sure there was another thread where someone who had owned the car piped in for a bit.

Edit: Chad beat me to it, and linked thread does have some posts by someone who had eyes/hands on the car.

It'd be G5 car, no restrictor needed.

But I don't see transmission in the list of mods...so it's going to be a one-wheel drivin' CV bustin' monster until you spend money there.

I think the suspension alone would be at least $1000 more---then if you're lucky like Carl Jardevall when it's time for a rebuild if you're lucky you only wait 9 months.

FTFY.

Too bad it was built as a show car. Had it been built to an actual rally rulebook, it would be something worth considering.

Not that I would buy it, but why wouldn't they just put a legit cage in? The car might have some actual value in it if it was stage ready. They obviously put a decent amount of work into it, stupid or not; why not spend an extra 2 days making a real cage.
