Believe it or not - another rock solid 020 bit the dust. Any of you VW pervs have a decent 16v box gathering dust that you'd like to sell? A Kaaz and a final drive ok, too, but I can source separately. Thanks.

Unbelievable to hear of you breaking one. eye popping smiley

Word on the street is the Germans stole some gear cluster blueprints from the Swizz and designed the 020 box..... Trouble for the Krauts was those blueprints actually related to the inner workings of wrist watches. grinning smiley

Take this time to go with an 02a or 02j. You will be rebuilding no matter what, and they can be had for cheap. The 02a shifter feels like poo and has a seriously long throw. The 02j shifter can be swapped over with minimal work, and the aftermarket actually supports it.

True - but the swap is beyond my skill set and the shops I talked to out here sort of get a glazed over look when I tell what I want to do - I'd be up for any shop or shade tree recommendations within a couple hours of Detroit.
