Dear Mister Vanfawkinsomethingorother,
I just had the realization that you are a very smart fellow. For the third consecutive time, you have sent an email requesting funds for parts and/or services at the last day of the month, or first few days of the next. Which always happens to be the exact date I get my once a month salary deposit and about the only time I have what is commonly known as money. I do tend to blow through it quickly, lately on rally related purchases, but the check book is ready like a college frat boy with a pocket full of roofies at the 18 and over night. Sincerely, Sen. Dear Mr Vanherringchoker,
I just had the realization that you are a very forgetful old tea-drinking relic. For the umpteenth consecutive time I feel the need to remind you that some of the 'boys' paid in full for said parts many moons ago. In the future, please be sure to use the following phrase suggested by my retained council: "Boys - with the exclusion of our dashingly handsome and always pre-paying Canadian accomplice" How much is welding gonna be? I think I can do aluminium mig with a guy locally here, so if it's gonna be more than a coupla bucksies, I want the ikea flat-pack version as well. Sincerely, Mr Patrick 'You're getting a ledger with your lager' McVeigh |

OK boys, here's some photos.
Boys there's lots of parts, are you certain you'll be able to finger out just perzactly how these thangs go to gether? Maybe I should at least tack them and you guys can finish weld things???? here we go: Piles of expensive stuff: Bottom and main pieces Angle gusset, tarmac center supports don't get any angle gussets. Medium duty gravel get one on one side and Acropolis spec get one per side. WE get one per side. |

Ah f-it, if you're gonna get them tacked you might as well finish weld it. Just charge it to my JVAB line of credit. Besides, things like motor mounts will be at the aluminium guy soon n-e-ways, ya?
How thin a sump guard can we get away with now? Anything getting anodized in the next 2 weeks that these and the bells could get thrown in with? |

Not hung up. But I already started on a front skid plate mount/oil cooler mounts that bolts up to the same spot as where the AC condensor was and was under the impression that this is for back? Oi, got any of the T5 mounts/crossmembera on the shelf? I need that fairly soon. My T9 is trashed.

You sell them to that Ian guy? I had them make an extra set of fronts. And yeah I can send the pieces to weld up the tranny crossmember. Maybe I give you one and you weld me up 6-7?? The mopunts I'm out of but when I have a moment, I can carve up some more as I fillay came up with a repeatable method for the two cuts, probably send you the stuff to do that too. I found the December email and realized that it was the mid one. That was what I had thought. Yeah I sold them to someone. Are the fronts still about $109 a pair. Anyhow, yeah, may as well replace them. > And yeah I can send the pieces to weld up the > tranny crossmember. > Maybe I give you one and you weld me up 6-7?? Sure. Are there different ones for wide vs. narrow tunnel cars? I don't know which I have but I'm an early 85 so probably narrow. > The mopunts I'm out of but when I have a moment, I > can carve up some more as I fillay came up with a > repeatable method for the two cuts, probably send > you the stuff to do that too. Okay. Here in about 2-3 weeks the second job is over with mostly and I start school so I'll have every evening after 5 off. We're deep into the search for shop space now too and may soon own the Tig and Mig from the Audi shop. Or I'm going to buy my own Tig if Brian wants too much for his. My car will be being parked there in a couple of days or next weekish for cage work to start. What thickness steel should I patch the sunroof hole with. Going to buy it soon, maybe even this evening. I used 20ga and it's a bit flimsy. If I had to again, I might think about something a bit thicker, or more correctly, I might cut the back half of another XR off, since it seems to have about the same compound curve to it as the front. |
