Wow, kind of sounds like the verbiage used by RA back when it was founded and was an adjunct to the SCCA.
What is Rally America? Rally America, Inc., is a privately held corporation, solely owned by President/CEO Doug Havir. Additional staff members are Beryl Ann Burton, Bruce Weinman, J.B. Niday and Johnny Parker, with assistance from Kristi Anderson and a host of other supportive individuals. Rally America, Inc. is not a subsidiary of or controlled by any other corporation or business entity including the SCCA. What does Rally America do? Rally America's primary objective is to assist individual event organizers, participating manufacturers, and the SCCA Performance Rally Department in managing event operations of the SCCA ProRallysm Championship. The staff brings together expertise in the areas of legal matters, finance, business management, accounting, marketing and promotion, graphic design and printing, event organization, computer technology, communications and ProRally competition as well as financial support. These resources will be applied where and when needed as operation of the series progresses. The desired result of Rally America's cooperative investment is a truly professional Championship, with consistent operations, timing and scoring, public relations and presentation across all events while preserving and strengthening the unique character of each. Why did Rally America get picked for this role? They didn't. They stepped forward and offered their services to the SCCA, the event organizers and the participating manufacturers, all of whom embraced the value of the offer and elected to move forward in working with the company. Control of the series has not been handed to Rally America. The organizers, manufacturers, the SCCA and Rally America have all agreed to work together leveraging each party's expertise to advance the series as a whole. What does Rally America stand to gain? Aside from the satisfaction of working closely with the premiere rally Championship in America, the company has earned the right to seek sponsorship funding in order to continue to provide valuable resources to all parties involved. Rally America does not receive any compensation from the SCCA, the event organizers, or the manufacturers. What are some of the specific things that are going to change? The enthusiasm amongst all of the involved parties is tremendous, and the list of ideas appears to be limited only by the amount of time available to describe them. Some of the higher priority items at this time in no particular order are: Provide electronic timing equipment to each event Provide a common scoring system to each event Bring key personnel from each event to every event Provide consistent guidelines for event operations Encourage consistent guidelines for rules interpretation and enforcement Provide a common Internet based competitor registration system "Talk about drugs. Driving a car like that, going that fast, it’s like all the drugs at once." - Tommy Byrne "Now, Pinky, if by any chance you are captured during this mission, remember you are Gunther Heindriksen from Appenzell. You moved to Grindelwald to drive the cog train to Murren. Can you repeat that?" - The Brain |

So is this gonna be the Mendocino , Seed 9 , Desert Storm, and AZ Extreme sanctioning body ?
I'm very confused (about life in general) but specifically .. I thought Denise was in good with Rally-America and she runs the south west rally championship which is all rallyamerica events, but is somehow separate from the rally-america one . her series has a bunch of sponsors which = prizes. which is well, pretty damn cool. Team O'neal free rally school , some cash, and some coupons for specific vendors who sponsor the series. and while i attend some rallies that are in her series, i don't peruse them all basically due to the roads / mileage / tow ... Mendocino has Awesome roads. gotta run it. Seed 9 ... very very very short mileage event ... but its right next to vegas Desert Storm ... love one or two of the roads, hate one or two of them.. I actually like doing the roundy round track .. but you feel rather Un-welcomed by the fans ... lol AZ Extreme ... ... No one wants to drive their rally car around a short course that bad.. well i guess 3-4 people do but most of us really would rather not. Seed 9 needs to find / or add in 1 more road.. anywho i'm so damn confused as to what's the point? |

I don't think the information about the new USRA could trickle out any slower. I gleaned this from facebook thread earlier today.
Denise McMahon: "BOD is all across the country and more press releases are coming." So is she hinting at the USRA being more than just a SW USA sanctioning body? Matt Smith Racing in glorious black and red My daily life is a Saab story (sold!) |
